Speed

For a colour laser printer with a price-tag around 1.6K, both the HP CP3525DN and the Xerox Phaser 8560DN deliver a great speed of 30 pages per minute. However, the Xerox Phaser 8560DN also has a quicker first-page-out speed with only 5 sec versus the HP's 11 seconds.

Image Quality

The Xerox has a much higher DPI at 1200x1200 where as the HP only has 1200x600. In terms of image quality the Xerox will produce better images then the HP, and the much higher DPI helps with that.

Features

Both the HP and the Xerox have a few printer languages (PCL6, PCL5, Adobe PostScript 3, HBPL, FX-PDF) which will cover all print job. The Xerox can hold much more paper with a 550 sheet feeder compared to a 250 sheet feeder for the HP. Also in terms of running costs the Xerox is much better. At 20% coverage on an A4 page (5% coverage of each colour) the HP is up to 18 cents per page where as the Xerox is at 13.1 cents!

Duty Cycle and Paper

The Xerox has a higher duty cycle of 85,000 pages per month whereas the HP is 75,000. However the The HP recommends a monthly page volume of 1500 to 5000 pages! Both printers can print up to 220GSM but the Xerox comes in to its own when printing on thicker stock (a lot of wedding invitations get printed out with this printer) because it has a straighter paper path and because it its printing technology it wont curl the paper like other printers.
