Take the first step to enjoying the cost saving and superior performance benefits of using Ink2image bulk ink.

The new Ink2image Trio bulk ink system for Epson desk top printer models represents a break through in bulk ink technology.

The unique system consists of refillable ink tanks that clip into sleeve adapters that fit in a printer’s print head.

The system is extremely cost effective while, at the same time, reducing the waste impact on the environment through substantially less plastic being used compared to normal throw away cartridges.

The Trio system is supplied in kits that include one sleeve adapter, three tanks, and one 4oz bottle of bulk ink per color. By using the included syringes, the ink tanks are filled from bulk ink bottles.

A Trio tank is then slipped into a sleeve adapter and placed into the printer. When the ink in the tank has been used up, it is simply replaced by another tank – an operation that takes less than ten seconds – and you continue printing.

The depleted tank can then be refilled at leisure.

Because the Trio system comes with three tanks per color, you always have two tanks ready and waiting to slip into your printer – no need to stop printing and refill every time a tank is used up.

The Trio tanks can be refilled many times and can be purchased separately.

The Trio sleeve adapters are fitted with auto reset ink monitor chips that work in conjunction with the ink level monitor software on the host computer.

Ink levels are shown decreasing as you print and, when the monitor warns that a color is about to run out, you simply replace the empty Trio tank with a full one, and the ink level shows full again – it couldn't be simpler.

The Trio system offers significant cost savings of approximately 60% - 70% dependent on the printer model used. For example, a Trio kit with ink for the Epson Photo R2880 cost USD $ 360.00 and includes the equivalent ink as 75 original cartridges or $ 975.00 worth, an immediate saving of $ 615.00.

On-going savings are even higher with replacement 4 oz bottles of Lyson Cave Paint R28 pigment ink costing $ 27.50 USD each and containing the same amount of ink as over 8 original cartridges.

The effective cost per cartridge using the Trio system is $ 3.44 per cartridge. Trio systems are available for all current Epson desk top printers, including the multi-function or all-in-one models that have been traditionally difficult to install with bulk ink feed devices.

Now any user of desk top printers can benefit from the cost savings of using Ink2image bulk inks. All Trio kits include a set of 4 oz bottles of Lyson or i2i Absolute Match inks, and all inks are closely color matched to the original inks so they can be used with original profiles and color settings.

For some models, a choice of ink type is offered depending on application requirements. For instance, Trio kits for models that use the original Epson Claria inks are available with either the i2i Absolute Match E2 standard dye inks, or with the Lyson Fotonic XG archival dye inks for more fade resistant printing.

We also offer the Lyson Cave Paint R24 pigment inks for use on the Epson Photo 1400 dye based printer so users can turn this low cost 13” wide printer into a pigment ink device. The Trio kits for the Epson Photo R1900 also have the option of coming with the color matched i2i Absolute E9 pigment inks, or with the wider color gamut Lyson Cave Paint R19 pigment inks for even better color than the original inks.

The Trio system is truly a green option for inkjet printing and has dramatically less impact on the environment when compared to normal throw away cartridges.

Not only does Trio use over 60% less plastic during manufacture when compared to normal cartridges (it takes around three quarts of oil to make one cartridge), but also the use of the system significantly reduces the number of cartridges to be disposed of. It is currently estimated that approx. 400 million inkjet cartridges per year end up in land fill sites in the USA alone.

A Trio system user who refilled their ink tanks ten times would reduce the amount of plastic to be thrown away by 85% when compared to disposable cartridges.

Info with price link on page.. Below installation instructions which should answer your FAQ's.

Trio bulk ink systems are simple to install, easy to use and will provide you with many hours of trouble free and lower cost printing. However, the successful use of the system is dependent on how accurately you follow this guide during installation.

Please read these instructions and familiarize yourself with the system components before you start the installation. During installation, it is wise to avoid touching the chips fitted to the cartridges.

A Trio kit consists of a sleeve adaptor per ink colour (fitted with an auto reset chip), three refillable tanks per ink colour, a filling syringe and needle per ink colour, and set of 4 oz bottles of ink.

Trio system

Above is a photo of a typical system. Familiarize yourself with the Trio ink tanks.

Each tank has two holes in the top fitted with rubber bungs. The coloured bung is in the ink filling hole and the white bung is in the air vent hole. During tank filling, both bungs should be removed from the holes.

During printing, the ink filling hole MUST have a bung fitted, and the air vent hole MUST NOT have a bung fitted. If you follow these simple rules then the system will work flawlessly. Filling the Trio tanks Fill the tanks one colour at a time.

Double check you are filling the correct tanks with the correct colour inks – it is pretty difficult to clean out a tank if it get’s accidentally filled with the wrong colour ink! To fill a tank, remove both bungs from the ink filling and air vent holes. Take a filling syringe with needle fitted and draw up a syringe full of ink from the ink bottle.

Insert the needle into the ink filling hole as far as it will go, and slowly inject the ink into the tank. You will see the ink level rise in the tank through the clear level window on the side of the tank. You can easily inject a full syringe of ink into an empty tank. Draw up another 4 ml or so of ink from the ink bottle and start to inject this into the tank through the ink filling hole as before.

trio

Stop injecting ink when the ink level reaches the top of the ink level window. Withdraw the syringe from the tank and return any ink in the syringe back to the ink bottle. Use paper towel to wipe up any ink from around the filling hole. Replace both the rubber bungs into the ink filling and air holes – this will prevent the tank leaking if it accidentally gets tipped over. Fill the other two tanks of the same colour using the same procedure as above.

Wash out the syringe you have just used with water under a faucet, and store in a clean place for when you need to refill your tanks. Repeat this filling procedure with the remaining colours using a clean syringe and needle for each ink colour. Installing the Trio system Insert a filled tank into a sleeve adaptor of the corresponding colour – double check that you are putting the correct colour tank into the correct colour sleeve adaptor.

The tank simply slides into the side of the adaptor as in this photo.

trio

The top of the tank fits snugly under the top lip of the adaptor – there should be no gap. Insert the tank/adaptor assemblies into your printer just as you would normal cartridges (it is possible to use Trio alongside normal cartridges if you need to use up existing cartridges).

REMOVE ALL THE WHITE BUNGS FROM THE AIR VENT HOLES – this is very important as the printer won’t print with the white bungs still in the air vent holes. Keep the white rubber bungs in a safe place near your printer as you will need them again when you change out empty tanks.

Perform head cleanings until you get a good nozzle check print. The first time you fill a Trio tank, it will take three or four head cleanings before you get a good nozzle check, as there will be a small amount of air trapped in the bottom of the tank. Head cleaning is only required when using a tank for the first time.

When a tank is refilled again with ink, head cleaning is not normally required. Once you get a good nozzle check, you are ready to print. Using the Trio System Trio works just like normal cartridges.

The ink monitor software on your computer will show the ink levels decreasing as you print. When the ink monitor warns you that a colour is about to run out or is empty, press the cartridge change button on your computer to move the print head to the cartridge change position.

trio

Remove the adaptor/tank assembly of the appropriate colour and insert a white rubber bung into the air vent hole on the used tank. Unclip the empty tank from the sleeve adaptor and replace with a filled tank of the correct colour. Insert the adaptor/filled tank assembly into the printer and REMOVE THE WHITE BUNG FROM THE AIR VENT HOLE.

Press the cartridge change button and then perform a nozzle check print to ensure all the jets are firing. The ink level for this colour should now be showing as full again in the ink monitor on your computer. The empty tank can now be refilled at your leisure using exactly the same procedure as above.

Please note: - with Trio on some printer models, the tanks may show as empty on the ink monitor software when they are in fact only half empty of ink.

This is because the Trio tanks are double the capacity of the standard original cartridges for these models. In these cases, the tank should still be replaced with a full tank each time the ink monitor software shows a colour as empty. Troubleshooting As stated above, Trio systems are used just like normal cartridges.

It is very important however, that tanks are replaced when the ink monitor software shows that a colour is running low or empty. Not replacing a tank at this point can cause the system to run dry of a colour, and it will take a few head cleanings to get this colour back once the tank has been replaced.

The special auto reset ink level chips that are fitted to the sleeve adaptors ONLY reset when an ink level shows as low or empty, and resetting to full occurs when you remove an adaptor from the printer to replace a tank.

A colour that shows as half empty on the ink monitor won’t reset to full by removing the adaptor from the printer and re-installing it. This way, the ink monitor software keeps in sync with your printer and the actual ink levels in the tanks. The only exception to this is if you turn off your printer when a colour is showing low or empty in the ink monitor. This can cause the empty colour to reset to full the next time you turn the printer on.

If this happens, then immediately change the tank on the colour that has reset to full, so that the ink levels in the tanks match up with the monitor software. Trio tanks can be refilled at least ten times. If a tank starts to drip ink from the ink exit hole on the bottom of the tank, or you get erratic printing when using the tank, then it should be replaced and spare tanks are available for purchased individually.

The Trio sleeve adaptors can be taken in and out of a printer many times but, eventually, the contacts on the chips will wear, and the chip will stop working. Again, sleeve adaptors can be also be purchased separately. Contact us via e-mail us for details. 12 months RTB warranty on supplied items. We guarantee the cartridges can be refilled 3 times however we're getting reports of 15 x or more!

*Please note using anything other than genuine cartridges will void your warranty.

If you have a head fail (or even power supply go!) naturally they will blame the ink regardless of the fact that heads can fail with genuine ink. Printers are sold at a very low profit because they make their money on the ink, so if you were them, what would you do?

Bottom line YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. WE WILL NOT BE REPLACING YOUR PRINT HEAD OR REPAIRING YOUR PRINTER. We just wanted to make this crystal clear.

Having said that unlike messy CIS systems the Tri system does not alter your printer in any way so in the unlikely event of a problem you should fit genuine ink and see what happens, and what your repair options are with genuine ink fitted.. *DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THE ABOVE, If you have a question get the answer in writing, if we didn't put it in writing we didn't say it.
