Comments: Hi Davin/Steve,

Firstly thanks for the incredibly fast shipping - I think that's the first time I've ordered a product (interstate) on a Friday and received it Monday!

Secondly, you were right about the Z700, it is an excellant projector and even though there is a fair amount of light in the room it's more then adequate to see clearly and brightly!

Fiona,

This is long overdue but I wanted to compliment you and the AIM team on you helpful friendly service.

I bought my first projector, an inFocus X1 after seeing it in action in your Box Hill store.  I appreciated the opprotuniy to see it with others.

Unfortunately, the inFocus gave up last year and naturally I came down to Aim to replace it.

I had picked the Sanyo PLV-Z5 but was a little concerned about the level of brightness.  Your team talked about the pros and cons of the various other units you stocked including more expensive projectors and explained why this was the best unit and recommended it with the assurance that I could bring it back if I wasn't happy.

I still have it and continue to be impressed after 6 months heavy use.

AIM's service is first class and I am happy to recommend you for honest helpful and informed advice.

Best regards

Comments: Dear Support.

I am an importer of " Gray market " goods and I find your comment (Second hand as they have already purchased them..) offensive and laughable.

If you are saying that I sell second hand products because I purchase and on sell them, then you too must sell second hand products as you need to purchase from wholesalers etc before you can sell your goods.

Many warranties are for the ORIGINAL purchaser after the channel has distributed the product.

It's true if you buy then sell something it is then second hand regardless of the condition. i.e. Obtained, derived, or borrowed from another; not original. Buy from a shop or person, not distribution channel. The supermarkets must sell a hell of a lot of second hand groceries?

We buy via the "channel" this is from the manufacturers agents to the reseller and does not effect warranty as above, indeed many of the current extended warranties are only available to goods that are supplied in this way.

For example Sanyo & Epson 3 year lamp and projector warranties. Many people are mislead by terms like "Shipped from NSW" "Australian Warranty" when often this is not the case (they left out "imported by me then..") the consumer may think that all warranties for the same product are equal.

There can also also issues with electrical approvals, C-Tick approval etc. some Gray Market products are marked 110 volts.

A simple example importing vs. channel sales.

You can import a Mercedes Benz, pay to have a compliance plate issued (say $15,000) then possibly register it in Australia, that's known as an "Import".

Would you then expect your local Mercedes dealer to:

A. Do all the warranty servicing and road side assist for free

B. Tell you to go see the people who talked you into importing it.
(Answer is B)

FYI The main source for Gray Market projectors provided to Gray Market sellers in Australia states:-

Warranty is valid only in Japan for 1 year. It is not valid in your country.
International warranty or more than 1 year warranty will NOT be applied. When machines need warrant repair, you should send machines to makers in Japan, via us.
Shipping cost of Item's round trip will be your burden (roughly $150-300 in case of projectors) For first year after your purchase, our fee for item's repair in Japan is zero. After 1 year warranty passes, we can serve as agent for repair in Japan. ( In latter case, our fee is $50 plus with actual repair costs.)

They go on to say.

We strongly recommend not to tell its serial No. to others. Its warranty in Japan will become void if you disclose its serial No. on open internet site or Makers directly.

We suggest if you must buy Gray Market ask the seller who they purchase from and a link to the warranty conditions! But remember (as you can see from the above conditions) often if they go, so does whatever warranty you were promised.

I would suggest that you remove this comment wherever it may be posted on your site as it is fraudulant and can be considered defamitory towards importers of goods similar to those you sell.

I will check back to see the results of my suggestion in the future and may take action against your business if you don't remove the above mentioned comment .

 To AIM,

I am very happy with my new Epson TW-2000. I'd been researching my next projector purchase for months, read reviews on ProjectorCentral and ProjectorReviews.com. There are a lot of good projectors out on the market and I wanted to find one that was perfect for my home theatre. AIM's customer service was helpful and prompt, Davin arranged a demonstration of the  Epson TW-2000 the very morning the first units shipped. The demo blew me away! The deep inky blacks and exceptional contrast sold me immediately. No adjustments out of the box where needed. The only adjustment done at home was to set the colour temp to 6500K and preset to Theatre Black 1. Perfect Picture!!

Davin was able to demonstrate the Sanyo Z2000 simultaneously for comparison. Both projectors where excellent, but the difference was obvious - with the Epson running literally out of the box had deeper blacks as well as excellent contrast, the picture was also brighter because of the extra lumens. Sharpness being similar. Add the extra year warranty and 3 year on the lamp, the Epson is easily the best value/performance 1080p projector on the market. Additionally AIM's flexibility, and customer service impressed me greatly. Once again AIM's professional service and awesome prices keeps me comming back for more. This was my 4th projector purchase.  One friend has already purchased and another is waiting on stock. Well done Epson and AIM!!!

Kind Regards
George K.

David - Sale of C2535

Hi Steven,
Writing to you to comment about David Cowling and Fiona.
Sharon & I were in the market for a good quality colour laser printer.

We had only considered Brother, Canon, Lexmark and HP.
We 'Googled' across your web site and FujiXerox presented itself.
We emailed an info request and David responded with heaps of straight forward info.

There was a follow up phone call from a lovely lass Fiona.
Fiona was great to chat to and very competent in her knowledge.

We emailed for a tad more info and David responded very quickly. All his info was well laid out, just giving us the facts so we could compare and decide.

The spreadsheet was really beneficial in clearing the crap from the facts regarding running costs. The long held belief that inkjet printers were cheaper than laser was disproved by David and our follow up research confirmed this.

Even though the facts about the 2535 put it so far above all other brands that they were no longer a consideration, we would not have known about it had the 2535 not been suggested by David.

We phoned David at 5pm on Friday and sealed the deal. Even though it was about knock off time on a Friday, David was still chirpy, great to chat to and the transaction was very simple.

It is nice to know that ordinary country family folk like us can receive great, honest and straight forward advice and service from our big city cousins.

If you wish, please pass on our thanks to David and Fiona.

(We asked David for your email address. David did not prompt us in any way regarding this).

Thank you

Re: Sanyo PLV-Z5

HI Davin

Well we now have our home theatre up and running.
OMG! - the Longhorn Lumiere screen is simply awesome; the Sanyo Z5 simply shines. The screen is super flat which faithfully reproduces the image projected on it.

The screen went together so easily; it took two of us about 20mins to assemble and mount it. The black velour feels fantastic and really sets the whole screen off. The frame which is of metal construction is rigid and feels and looks very sturdy. The screen which fits neatly inside grooves of the frame make the screen very easy to stretch and secure. What engineering!
We are so happy with the package. The Lornhorn remote (once I figured it out) is easy to program and as a result, we have "shelved" 5 remotes in favor of the touch-screen Lornhorn.

We now have a great home theatre.

Thankyou so much for your advice and assistance!

kind regards

Andre

Thank you very much for your impeccable service.  It is something like this makes Ausmedia stand out from the crowd.

It takes seconds to set up the Pharser printer like you said.  I like the output speed too.
The old Epson printer did not even come close to it.

One minor point which you might want to feed back to the Optoma projector manufacturer.  The connector for the monitor is probably 2mm short compared to most connector in a PC.

Once again, thank you very much for your delivery.

I put together the new 100" Longhorn screen that you supplied me last Saturday in the afternoon at home - both effortlessly and without drama.

This was the first time that I had put together a fixed frame projector screen. The screen went together well and all of the components seemed to be well made, making the overall look of the screen professional and a valuable addition to our home theatre room.

We watched "Hero" on the big screen at home on Saturday night with the whole family and everyone seemed to enjoy the big screen experience.

I wouldn't have a problem recommending this new screen to any of your potential clients in the future.

Regards
David Eldridge

Re: Printer calibration

When I ordered my Epson R1800 printer and monitor calibrator from your
website, I was very surprised to receive a phone call from you offering
advice and assistance on my choices. I am so glad of that phone call as
you certainly pointed me in the right direction and ultimately saved me
some money. As well as receiving my parcel in a speedy fashion, there
were the emails to help me with colour matching my printer. I must say
it's wonderful to deal with a company that is no. 1 in service and
advice with such competitive prices. You have another very satisfied
customer and I look forward to doing further business with you.

Kind regards

Thanks Davin,

Thought I would quickly mention how impressed I am with your service - I received my new Z5 in Adelaide a little over 24 hours after ordering it (who needs air freight??).  To top it off, AIM has been able to supply the Z5 about $300 cheaper than the supplier in Adelaide that I got a quote from for my insurance claim.  So, although initially pretty annoyed that my old Z2 was stolen I now have a Z5 to replace it with and because of AIM's good pricing I effectively didn't have to pay the excess on the insurance, making me one happy camper.

Keep up the good work!

Hello,

I just wanted to tell you this because it might be beneficial to you, and hopefully you will not be too insulted.

Your website is probably the worst website I have ever come accross.  It is messy beyond belief, distracting, and very difficult to navigate through.

I have spent almost an hour just trying to figure out how to order.  If you had a better more comprehensive site your will find that your sales increase incredibly.

I'm saying this not only as a designer, but as a consumer.  Pllllleeeeeeeeeeeease update it.

Many thanks and best of luck with your business,

Van

In our defense if we only sold a few products it would be easy.
We have so many info, review & product price pages that we can't put all possibilities in front of everyone.

Subject: ICC profiles and Huey!!!!

Russell

I purchased a Huey Pantone Monitor Colour correction system from you early this year to match my 19inch LCD monitor with the Pantone colour standard. It was fantastic!  Producing an ICC profile that completes the camera/screen/printer workflow.

I have just purchased a new Notebook and it was important that the screen displayed photographs true to form.  So I installed Huey on it to make an ICC profile and now the two monitors are identical in their display.

It was one of my better purchases.

Many thanks

Fiona, great service the cartridges arrived and thanks for the sports bag, towel etc.  My grandson has just left for swimming practice taking the towel with him and he says he needs the sports bag and soccer ball also.  Perhaps he will have to share.

I do not need paper at the moment but I am a member of some photographic folios and I sent your net address details and how helpful you had been to members in the folio, most use Ilford paper so I am sure they will appreciate the savings.  I will forward this email to our camera club members with the next meeting notice.

Hello Davin,

Thankyou for all your help on Friday and before then. After a lot of phone calls and patience, I was able to collect the box from Brisbane airport late Friday afternoon.

We assembled it Saturday and I must say I was impressed with relative ease of construction, the products supplied to assemble it and the finished overall appearance of the screen.

And that is not to mention the picture quality, which is great as well.

Thankyou again for all your help to get this screen to me in a big hurry, I appreciate your service and hope I can do business with you again.

I will definitely recommend your service to others.

Kind Regards,

Stephen Egan

Hi Russell,

I've just moved from Melbourne to rural Victoria and thought it timely to look at monitor calibrating while setting up the new office.

Getting good results using the Pantone Huey. I was waiting for something like this to come along - simple to install and use, with immediate improvements to my printing set up. And cheap!

We have produced over 2500 full colour cd/dvd prints using our Epson R210 with the continuous inking system.  We found the colours more vibrant and the coverage better than genuine inks, not to mention the fantastic value and ease-of-use of the system.

We are very happy indeed and will be sticking to this system from now on for all our inkjet printers!
