Simple lesson here you must make more than you spend.

According to press Cworld owe suppliers around $4.7M

  • What we find disturbing is that you can still place orders on-line for products they don't have (like most) however we don't think suppliers that are owed a fortune will supply (your order) unless their debt is paid first? So it's the old pay now and hope to get it later. We keep warning everyone this can't go on, competition is one thing but consumers and suppliers are playing pass the package and if you get caught when the music stops..

 To AIM,

I am very happy with my new Epson TW-2000. I'd been researching my next projector purchase for months, read reviews on ProjectorCentral and ProjectorReviews.com. There are a lot of good projectors out on the market and I wanted to find one that was perfect for my home theatre. AIM's customer service was helpful and prompt, Davin arranged a demonstration of the  Epson TW-2000 the very morning the first units shipped. The demo blew me away! The deep inky blacks and exceptional contrast sold me immediately. No adjustments out of the box where needed. The only adjustment done at home was to set the colour temp to 6500K and preset to Theatre Black 1. Perfect Picture!!

Davin was able to demonstrate the Sanyo Z2000 simultaneously for comparison. Both projectors where excellent, but the difference was obvious - with the Epson running literally out of the box had deeper blacks as well as excellent contrast, the picture was also brighter because of the extra lumens. Sharpness being similar. Add the extra year warranty and 3 year on the lamp, the Epson is easily the best value/performance 1080p projector on the market. Additionally AIM's flexibility, and customer service impressed me greatly. Once again AIM's professional service and awesome prices keeps me comming back for more. This was my 4th projector purchase.  One friend has already purchased and another is waiting on stock. Well done Epson and AIM!!!

Kind Regards
George K.

David - Sale of C2535

Hi Steven,
Writing to you to comment about David Cowling and Fiona.
Sharon & I were in the market for a good quality colour laser printer.

We had only considered Brother, Canon, Lexmark and HP.
We 'Googled' across your web site and FujiXerox presented itself.
We emailed an info request and David responded with heaps of straight forward info.

There was a follow up phone call from a lovely lass Fiona.
Fiona was great to chat to and very competent in her knowledge.

We emailed for a tad more info and David responded very quickly. All his info was well laid out, just giving us the facts so we could compare and decide.

The spreadsheet was really beneficial in clearing the crap from the facts regarding running costs. The long held belief that inkjet printers were cheaper than laser was disproved by David and our follow up research confirmed this.

Even though the facts about the 2535 put it so far above all other brands that they were no longer a consideration, we would not have known about it had the 2535 not been suggested by David.

We phoned David at 5pm on Friday and sealed the deal. Even though it was about knock off time on a Friday, David was still chirpy, great to chat to and the transaction was very simple.

It is nice to know that ordinary country family folk like us can receive great, honest and straight forward advice and service from our big city cousins.

If you wish, please pass on our thanks to David and Fiona.

(We asked David for your email address. David did not prompt us in any way regarding this).

Thank you

Re: Sanyo PLV-Z5

HI Davin

Well we now have our home theatre up and running.
OMG! - the Longhorn Lumiere screen is simply awesome; the Sanyo Z5 simply shines. The screen is super flat which faithfully reproduces the image projected on it.

The screen went together so easily; it took two of us about 20mins to assemble and mount it. The black velour feels fantastic and really sets the whole screen off. The frame which is of metal construction is rigid and feels and looks very sturdy. The screen which fits neatly inside grooves of the frame make the screen very easy to stretch and secure. What engineering!
We are so happy with the package. The Lornhorn remote (once I figured it out) is easy to program and as a result, we have "shelved" 5 remotes in favor of the touch-screen Lornhorn.

We now have a great home theatre.

Thankyou so much for your advice and assistance!

It takes seconds to set up the Pharser printer like you said.  I like the output speed too.
The old Epson printer did not even come close to it.

One minor point which you might want to feed back to the Optoma projector manufacturer.  The connector for the monitor is probably 2mm short compared to most connector in a PC.

Just a short line to let you know that I am very happy with the Sanyo Z5 Projector. If you recall, I was originally wanting to purchase the latest Panasonic however you guys steered me towards the Sanyo. My friend has the Panasonic and he reluctantly agreed that the Sanyo has a sharper picture than the Panasonic. With the additional advice regarding warranty variations, your advice has proved to be excellent.

In addition, set-up was very easy and with the lens shift option, framing after mounting the projector to the ceiling was too easy and was achieved without keystone adjustment. The out of box default settings were also fantastic. The lens cover is also a great feature and the unit is quieter than the Panasonic. The lower lumens is not an issue as I don't require the unit to run in a well lit room.

Thanks for your advice in getting this result. [More]

Subject: Multi-fill cartridges and Canon i9950

Hi Russell

Having recommended and introduced with great success the continuous inking system at a former place of employment, I ordered the multi-fill system for Ultimate DLR's home office just before Christmas.

Unfortunately, no matter what I tried – opening/closing cartridge holes, refilling cartridges, retrying old cartridges, I continually had problems.  Magenta wouldn't print, there were stripes, or there was too much yellow-green.  Daniel, who had organised my purchase, advised me to clean the print head in water to clear any blockages – still no success even though I tried this several times.

Once the Christmas crazies were over, I had the printer looked over by a Canon repair centre who advised that the print head was faulty.  I found this strange because my problems had only occurred since I had changed to the multi-fill system.  They mentioned that the cyan and yellow multi-fill cartridges seemed to be putting out a lot of ink, but they couldn't say for sure whether the multi-fill system had damaged the print head.

I called and spoke to you, explaining that I had been through a mountain of yellow ink and a couple of other colours without any success (from trying to run the clean program, test prints etc) and that I was thinking about sending the whole lot back, such was my frustration with it all.  Plus I now had to pay for a new print head.  I also mentioned the comment the Canon tech had made about the cyan and yellow cartridges.

You very promptly arranged for me to receive a new bottle of yellow to top up what I had lost through not being able to get the system to work, operating instructions and some extra multi-fill cartridges (plus my missing red and green from backorder).  However, the most crucial thing you advised was that occasionally the refill cartridges can be faulty and put out too much ink, and suggested I throw out the cyan and yellow multi-fill cartridges and try again with new ones.

Through a quirk of fate, I requested that the new print head be delivered unopened.  I thought I would give it one more go using the old print head with replacement multi-fill cyan and yellow.  Voila!  I got a perfect photo!  It had simply been my misfortune to strike two faulty cartridges which had probably flooded the system, preventing the magenta from printing at all.

The Canon tech was somewhat embarrassed and said he would “tell the boys not to fix the printer so well next time”!  but that had nothing to do with it.  They couldn't have tested the print head with their own cartridges, simply flushed out the old print head, tested it with my multi-fill cartridges, then just told me I needed a new print head instead.

Not having to replace the print head saved me $160, all through because of your advice and willingness to go that extra step to look after a customer.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending yourselves and the multi-fill system to others (I know of at least one other i9950 user who would benefit greatly from the system).

Many thanks again, Russell.  It's great to have such a satisfactory outcome.

Tips on saving ink with a Epson Pro-Graphics 4800 - 7800

Regarding this little article on your website. Are you guys for real putting something like this on your site? I would have thought AIM's expertise would take in consideration what these printers are actually designed for - PRO GRAPHICS Business People - not part-time users...

If you purchase a pro-graphics printer with the intention of only doing 2-3 8x10" prints, why bother buying this printer in the first place?

This is a production machine and you would naturally use it to print and sell your PHOTO's - people who should buy these printers are selling their images not paper and ink...

An example -

I print 16x20" wedding photos on my Epson 7800 and sell these for $95.00 each! There is more than enough margin built into this price to take into consideration any waste - most intelligent business people would build all the associated costs into their final sale price.

If you fail to do this you will most likely find yourself out of business fairly soon.

I would remove this article from your site as it only makes you look a little silly advocating such a ridiculous notion that a pro-graphics printer should be tip-toed around because of head cleaning - I paid $6000 for my printer and it has paid itself more than 30 times over in the first 12 months! with an average profit of 75% - you do the math!

I only do this as a part-time job!

I suggest you tell this guy to sell his printer and buy a cheap A3 printer with a continuous bulk ink system - cheap mentality = cheap customers

Regards,

Ivy

Subject: PrintFix Pro Suite
Importance: High

Dear Russell

Thanks for recommending that I should get the Print Fix Pro Suite to include the Spyder. I calibrated my Mac's 17" flat panel Apple monitor with it, and then jumped straight in to making a printer profile from the 729 patch target. All very straightforward, and the result quite surprised me. Previously, I had used the built-in visual software adjustment to prepare a profile for the monitor, but I always had a slight different image density in the print (using your original profile made for my paper) from what I saw on the screen.

Now, what I see on the screen is exactly what I get on my prints, apart from occasional minor colour variation due to out-of-gamut colours. I reckon that the additional cost of the Pro Suite is well worth while for anyone printing large numbers of digital photos, simply because of the consistent quality one achieves and the ability to relatively quickly prepare profiles for changes of paper or ink, and would recommend it to anyone.

The on-screen instructions and the readily available on-screen Help pages made it a straightforward process, and I went through the whole process of monitor and printer calibration in one attempt and am now printing with the revised setup. Incidentally, the reason I needed to re- profile from the original profiles that you made for me is that the latest version of Kodaks Premium Glossy Paper is somewhat thicker, glossier, and was printing with a much redder image using the older Premium Glossy paper, so it's something you could pass on to other customers who may be changing to the new version.

AIM Digital Imaging

Dear Russell

Once again our members were treated to an excellent workshop presented by you on Wednesday, 30th August. We are grateful that you agreed to give of your precious time to meeting our needs.

We were very impressed by your obvious expertise and knowledge and the manner in which you presented information to us. I am sure there was “something” for everyone given that our members are at all stages of learning about their hobby.

In talking with some after the meeting, people were saying things like that ”they must follow up on something you said” or you gave them “some information that they didn’t know before”. For example, the Spyders. I, for one, will consider seriously about how I use my printer!!! (Incidentally, an Epson 1290 on which I have only used Epson papers and inks but may consider the Ilford papers. It has given me great service to date….”touch wood”!!).

.

The information on colour space and ICC profiles etc was, I am sure, of great benefit for members since there is often discussion between members about why monitor colour does not match printed colour and original image colour. Some do try thumbnail testing to achieve the best colour balance.

The technology is certainly not standing still and it is very beneficial that there are people such as yourself who can come to clubs and present information on what to look for and aspects to consider in buying and using the equipment.

Once again our thanks, with the hope that, at some future time, we might get you along again to bring us “up to date”.

Congratulations on running the competition and I am sure there will be members who will submit an entry

Yours faithfully,

The CIS system I have installed on my brand new Epson R2400 is going perfectly and saving me a fortune in ink costs. Likewise the professional quality Ilford paper you have sold me has saved me a fortune in paper costs with perfect output results.

Hi Russell

I am a freelance photographer and have been using your Continuous Inking System (CIS) with my Epson printer now for about 6 months. The cost saving by using this inking system has been remarkable, cutting somewhere in the vicinity of 70% of my ink costs.

I use some of my photographs outside in nurseries and the results I’m getting are fantastic.

The pigment inks are lasting really well in the sun and the colour rendition of the prints are superb, especially due to the ICC profiles that you supplied specifically for my ink and paper.

You’ve gone the extra mile and persevered with my initial teething problems and I commend you on your service and professionalism. Many thanks for a great product and wonderful service.

I just thought you'd like a note from another satisfied customer. I
purchased an Epson CX3700 printer with a CIS kit through John via the

This was sight unseen, so I was a bit wary at first, but your
telephone manner and support was great.

When the printer arrived, the instructions were clear (it was good to see the honesty of ink on fingers in
the DVD) and after a day or so of making up for my own mistakes (air bubbles
caused by leaving the tubes clamped), I am pleased to say that the system is
working beautifully. I look forward to saving lots of money as I use lots of
bulk ink.

Thank you Davin, the projector arrived in one piece and surpasses all my
expectations so far. It is so quiet, and the image is truly awsome.

I bought this for use with the xbox 360 when it is released in Australia
this month. Since the 360 outputs a 720p signal many gaming enthusiasts
will be looking for 720p displays to make the most of their new consols
and projectors are a popular option on the gaming scene right now.
You may get enquiries about a phenomena called scaling lag which occurs
with some projectors when a low resolution signal is input and scaled up
to fit the projectors native resolution.

It results in a split second delay between when a player pushes a button
on their controler to when the result is seen on the projected image.
While this is unoticeable with DVD movies it is a major problem for interactive
entertainment and can make some projectors completely useless for this purpose.

I don't know if you test game consols on your projectors but before I
bought my AE900E from you I checked your website over for information
about whether or not scaling lag was an issue. When I couldn't find any
confirmation that it wasn't a problem I almost didn't buy the projector.
The reason I bought it in the end was that I managed to find a reveiw for
the AE900E in which the writer had tested for scaling lag.

This brings me to my point, perhaps mentioning on your website that
particular models don't suffer from scaling lag would be very helpfull to
some buyers, particularly at this point in time when many gaming
enthusiasts are preparing for the next generation of High Definition
gaming systems.

Once more thanks for your service regarding my purchase. I'm extremely
happy with this great new toy.

Regards,
Phil.

No issues with using photos on the website. I will see if I can get a better quality photo with a brighter picture on the screen for you.

Just a few notes about the installation:
The issue I had with the installation is that the pool table was also in use at times when entertaining.

That was the reason for the height of the screen close to the ceiling (200 mills). Pool table players can now walk freely around and play pool whilst not getting in the way of the projected image.

Brian's Infocus 5000
Infocus ScreenPlay 5000 at Brian's place..

The Sunwave units you sold me work perfectly and have a far better range than the standard individual remotes.

Whilst the projector is only 4 metres back the viewing seating is 6 metres. Most people are looking up naturally anyways when relaxing so it worked out to be an ideal viewing angle. Used the website you recommended and the image and focus was perfect for the projected length it suggested. Most people are looking up naturally anyways when relaxing it is an ideal viewing angle.

I also set the screen back 100 millimetres into a recess and painted it matt black to prevent reflection. The velour trim on the screen takes care of the rest.

The down lights are behind the speakers and also at the top of the recessus either side. They are usually dimmed for viewing and just add a bit more effect.

Speakers are elevated slightly to give direct sight or ear-line to the centre and main speakers. As I mentioned before, 2 subwoofers connected and the room moves when the music or picture sound dictates.

The amplifier I used was a Yamaha 657 with the Digitec HD tuner you guys sold me. Two connections to projector, DVI and Component, the amp up scales all other inputs to component. UPS installed in the roof.

Will send thru a better photo this evening.

I wanted ta write and say thanks for your time, advice and lets not forget a great product.

As you know I recently bought the Acer PD113 projector $894.00 from a leading retail
store. Getting it home and using it a few time's I noticed a few faults. So after ringing
Acer technical service they agreed to give me a new one, this was good. In the mean
time I did some looking around on the net and found that the faults that I had noticed
were actually traits of that model. Thats when I started looking for something else.

I had not taken the second projector out of it's box so I took it back to the store and got
my money back. That's when I found you guy's. After talking to you David and having a
chance to view the meany options you offer we went with the Panasonic PT- LM2E. We
were still working within a budget but were happy ta spend the extra $400.00. This is a
great product and we are very glad that we did not settle with the Acer.

Another positive for me was no rainbow effects add that with the great price and service
I have no problem telling anyone that ausmedia is a great place ta spend money.

Thanks again for everything

Hi Russell

I originally set up an R210 printer for general printing including photos and CD/DVD. I was so impressed with the system and the quality of the printing produced that I purchased a second printer and CIS system for use in my sublimation printing business.

I found the direction supplied with the systems easy to follow and the CIS systems simple to set up and install. The Ausmedia web site has a lot of valuable information for using the CIS and associated printer.

Both systems have functioned without any problems during the time they have been installed. I have had a few problems with the printers which I have been able to remedy with information available on the web site.

The systems have saved me many thousands of dollars during the couple of years that I have been using them and I would have no hesitation at recommending the system to other potential buyers.

Hi there, just a few lines to say thanks for the wonderful service and very affordable products that you supply.

Having never made internet transactions before, we were apprehensive about purchasing online; you hear about so many people being deceived these days. However, when the parcel arrived our fears were alleviated. Upon opening the package we couldn’t believe how compact the unit (a Panasonic PTLM-2 projector) was compared to our previous NEC monster. After switching the projector on though, we couldn’t believe our eyes. It left the NEC for dead and filled the room with the clearest, brightest and most colourful picture we have seen. This has got to be the best buy of the millennium. How anyone can call those overpriced 42” TVs cinema is beyond us. The PTLM-2 definitely has to be the way to go if you want real home theatre without a second mortgage! An excellent buy from a trustworthy and efficient company that won’t sell you overpriced merchandise. Many thanks,

.

Subject: Continuous ink
Hi RussellMy apologies for not emailing sooner. ( I did actually write it but it was
not sent I now realise) I am the guy you spoke to who had used systems from the US
but wanted to try a local system. I had plenty of ink so just ordered the cartridge set. I had
a dud chip set and you expressed a new one. The replacement chip arrived the next day for the R210
and worked perfectly. The installation was simple and the system has worked brilliantly since.
I would like to get 2 additional sets for the R210. (Cartridge set only, no
ink)
Do you have a B+W ink set that you sell or recommend?
Do you have a warehouse in Sydney? I may need a couple more R210 printers.I have been using continuous ink systems for over 4 years. Due to lack of availability locally and expense, I opted to get them from overseas.
I recently bought a new printer and was looking for a new ink system and
found AIM. Your prices were very attractive, and as it turns out your service was
excellent.Dealing with someone in the same country is such a pleasure after having
tried to sort out a problem with my last imported set.I am now converting my friends and family to the virtues of pain free
printing. Everybody hates the cost they incur every time they press the "print" button but it is made
worse by the fact they know they are being RIPPED OFF by the manufacturers.
Since I started using continuous ink I have never given a thought about the
cost.....other than to appreciate the fact I am saving so much money.I am a photographer, so I use a lot of ink, and am fussy about results.
Cheap ink is great but not if it compromises the quality of my work. After
5000 A4 colour pages using continuous ink, it is clear that I am a very happy convert. Many thanks

: xx@tpg.com.au20 September, 2005.Attn: JohnAIM DigitalDear John,Finally our home theatre is finished, and as already stated, have
enclosed some pictures (even a video, photo’s don’t really do it
justice… just too dark in there!!!) Everyone who checks it out is simply
blown away with the setup, and I must say that without your assistance
in supplying the screen, projector (Sanyo Z3 on your recommendation)
universal remote, HD STB and cables, this project would not be the same!
The process, though initially a little apprehensive relying on
‘opinions’ from a business in another state, and dealing over the
internet – sight unseen, I would not hesitate for a moment in
recommending your services to anyone. The process was painless and your advice priceless. I cannot thank you enough. You may notice in a photo or two, the electric screen has a bit of
uneven surface at the centre bottom of the screen. I was wondering if
there is anything I can do to remove this, and indeed prevent it in the
future. It’s only a few months old and used less than a dozen times
(leave it down now in an attempt to help relieve it).[Note to avoid ripples (slight ones always happen, they don't worry most people) we
suggest a fixed screen such as the Longhorn triple layered fixed screens..-- AIM]
Good luck in the future, and remember if you’re ever in the area to come
buy a ticket to get in and check out the footy!!! (Or maybe a movie!)Thankfully,John M [Note Mr. M won a universal remote control as per the September competition for best photos of a clients installation.]

Thank you for all your advice in my purchase of an InFocus 5000
projector and motorised 100 inch screen. I have attached photos of my set up for the competition. I made the swing down projector mount and
did all the installation myself. The screen is mounted in the ceiling
and all that is visible from the lounge room is a 30mm wide slot with a
plastic cover trim. Most people entering the lounge room do not notice
the screen slot or projector mount when they are both up. I' am very
happy with the picture quality which my photo does not display properly
as it was taken in the day and I was in a rush so did not have time to
change camera settings. The swing down mount is set up with a counter
balance pulley system until I can source a suitable electric drive
reversing motor at a reasonable price. I will take a night photo and email it to you tomorrow, will just have
to read the camera instructions to turn off the flash. Thank you again
for all your excellent advise and service it has been a pleasure dealing

Subject: Thank You - Purchase of SP5700.
Oh gee am I one happy guy. Came in this SAT morning and did a great deal with Davin for Infocus Screenplay 5700, 100” screen and PJ mount.

.

Whilst I still need to determine cabling requirements (best to think it thru and cable/mount in one hit!) I got home and set up the screen, temporarily setting up PJ on table about 5.5mtrs from screen. The curtains have been shut since midday, and I’ve been in heaven!

.

My little 21/2 year old was very impressed too – no sooner than I had the screen setup he said ‘Ooooh…..Woody? Buzz?’ which in laymans terms is a request for TOY STORY! He did not move for the whole movie – a first as at that age they can be a bit wriggly! I was worried we were going to have to battle it when it ended over Thomas the Tank or Gladiator.

.

I won out and whilst love this movie and watched it numerous times on DVD this time was like the very first. I had the TV on (my LOEWE XEMIX DVD keeps turning the TV on automatically – have to change that now!) and the contrast/colour was so close to a match on the big screen I was breathless. Blacks/Whites are the big differences where the PJ’s are noticeably less ‘rich’ – but only in direct comparison, on their own they more than hold their own – certainly don’t looked washed out or grey etc as I have heard some PJ’s do.

.

The picture quality is just superb. Knew that when comparing to the Pana AE700 (dull in comparison) and even the SP5000 – a great unit but the ‘punch’ in colour and contrast on the 5700 won out – and yes for me justified the significant jump into the next price bracket!

.

I have a 4yo LOEWE Planus CRT TV at home – and believe it has one of the best pictures around – rich in colour (which I like – know some don’t). I know I shouldn’t have been, but couldn’t help comparing the picture quality when looking around at Projectors. The 5700 delivers so much more so than any of the other PJ’s I’ve seen.

.

A special thanks to Steven, who I saw a couple of weeks ago. Gave me the low-down of LCD/DLP and whilst knew I liked the 5700 was subjective and showed me a few other units that were a lot cheaper but still had a lot of bang for their buck (and the best of those would have to be the SP5000!). Also liked his no nonsense approach – wanted the sale but wasn’t going to load me with a heap of sales stats and hoopla to get it. Refreshing to get ‘real’ recommendations, supported of course with the huge array of info posted on AUSMEDIA’s website.

.

Thanks Davin for filling in for Steve today! – even before the final decision on PJ you had our business based on both of your professional, service orientated approach. How you handled my rather embarrassing issue with the EFTPOS machine (had all funds in my savings account ready to eftpos not realising there is an $800 limit – got a great deal but didn’t quite go down that much!) was I thought extremely generous and was ever so appreciated.

.

On a side note 2 things a) could I get access to your ‘customer only’ site . and b) is there any chance I could get a copy of the HD loop of puffing billy you use for as a demo…. My little boy would just LOVE it – particularly up on the ‘BIG’ screen ;-)

.

Thanks again,

Mathew..

We are a manufacturer, assembler & distributor of portable batteries
& battery packs. Due to the wide variety & varying nature of our product
we use an ink based printer (Epson R210 Printer) to overprint generic
insert sheets, with specific battery information in house. In 12 months we have used over 230 genuine Epson ink cartridges or just under
$4000.00 in Ink. When I first came across your Continuous Inking System
I was quite sceptical at the claims, however we were desperate enough to
try anything. I was amazed at the speed at which our order was delivered
& am delighted with the performance of the system, no-one here has been
able to tell the difference between the genuine Epson ink cartridges &
the Continuous Inking System.

In the 3 weeks we have been using the CIS
we have printed over 3500 insert sheets & the system is working
brilliantly, the daily changing of ink cartridges is gone & we are
saving big dollars. I will be ordering another system shortly & I would
have no hesitation at recommending the system to other potential buyers.

Dear Russell,
Brief note to thank you for the telephone assistance you gave me last week when I got a bubble in the one of the tubes of the CIS (Continuous Inking System). Your intructions were precise and fixed the problem immediately.
You asked if I would be willing to give a frank assessment of the system and I am more then happy to do so. I run a photographic business and find the results from the CIS to be of excellent quality and has saved me many dollars over using use-once cartridges. Though not a card carrying greeny I find the wastage involved with throwing away empty catridges to be avoided if possible.
I have not had a great deal of success with refilling cartidges by hand and so was sceptical of CIS at first. I'm glad I was wrong and have no hestation of recommending CIS. I also wish to congratulate AIM Digital Media and you personally for the excellent after sales service and friendly attitude you have demonstrated.

Thank you for making the transaction easy. This is my first item buying over 1k over the internet. I usually buy electronic items locally. The transaction was easy and the delivery was faster than i thought.

I made my decision based on the review on your website and most importantly, the price. To date, i have not seen any price cheaper than what ausmedia offered.

I finally completed my setup. First time i powered up the Infocus X1a, it was jaw dropping quality. My wife and I was amazed by the quality and colour rich outcome. See the photo attached. Notice there is an ambient light close to the screen, and still the image is outstanding.

Once again, thank you for your assistance. All the best to ausmedia.

Hi Steven

Just a note to let you know how how thrilled I am with my purchase of the Sanyo Z2 LCD theatre projector on the 12/5/05.

I had been to plenty of stores to view projectors over the last few months and was beginning to think that I was going to have to compromise quality for price! Issues such as screen door effect or vertical banding were always evident.

I dropped in to your store to view the Panasonic AE700 against the infocus 5000, but was really impressed with the Sanyo Z2 which was new in your range. I can honestly say that this projector does not suffer from any of the above problems. The picture is also sharper and clearer than the Panasonic or the Infocus.

Peter was a great help showing me the differences between the 3 projectors and was happy to let me connect my own DVD player to the units to view my own DVD's.

I would recommend anyone to view these projectors in action to see the difference for themselves.

At home, I am projecting on to a 2 meter wide screen and the image is fantastic!!

Thanks again for all your help.

Hello Steven,I rang a few days ago to enquire about a projector for professional
presentations. The website provides a lot of reviews of different
projectors. It's very tough trying to decide which projector to get when
there are so many good reviews on all of them. A simple telephone call to
the hotline on the website solved that problem. You were most helpful in
providing me with a few different projectors to choose from ranging from the
cheaper projectors to the middle range projectors. It came down to a
decision that the NEC LT170 Projector would be the best projector for my
needs and at the same time it would be wise to pick up an Image 1.5m Tripod
Screen. I have previously purchased projector screens and projectors for
work and was surprised by how much cheaper this company was to many out
there. As a person who has not bought anything off the internet before, I was
sceptical at first about this website as the projector I was intending to
purchase was nearly half the price of most competitors. The only thing that
made me place an order was the fact that I could pay by Bank Cheque and
there was a local store in Box Hill for me to pick up the goods from. This
reassured me that my package would not go missing. For those people having a look at this website for the first time, have a
chat to one of the sales consultants and see what they can offer you. This
site is real. It has no hidden disclaimers about their products and the fact
that they have it in stock is a big bonus for those who want it right away.
I found that from speaking to Steven, everything that is stated on the
website is exactly how the business operates. Thanks for the great friendly service and the next time anyone asks me where
to go for projectors - I'll tell them to go to AIM.All the best.

Daniel

We're sure we made the right decision in the end.I was a bit nervous about buying goods over the phone and internet from an organisation I didn't know.
Maybe your website should underline your credentials and longevity in business etc a bit more.

Presuming most people would have goods like the ones I bought delivered to their homes, I can't understand why everyone doesn't buy from you. I feel a bit guilty though having done so much research at Harvey Norman and Bing Lee. Their prices, realistically were probably $500-750 more than yours.

That feels like a worthwhile saving to me!Thanks again - I'll recommend you to others.Michael Bailey.

Dear Steven

.

Just an Fast reply! to let you know how pleased I am with the X1 In –Focus projector. I purchased it largely from the information from your web site and have since conducted further re-search on the web finding an amazing amount of positive feed back from many sources.

.

I thought as long as it was comparable to the LCD unit I have at work ( cost Approx $4500) I’ll be happy, but certainly it is significantly better. Coupled with my High Definition set top box and the Yamaha sound system I find it just as good ( to my untrained eye) as the $16,000 unit Sony demonstrated at the recent home show. I run HDTV, X-Box ,DVD and Foxtel through the unit and funnily enough the only slightly disappointing picture is Foxtel. All the others are fantastic.

Hi RussellA quick line to let you know that I'm now getting prints with colours
that match exactly what I see on the screen, using your profiles. I
hadn't realized what a difference custom profiles would make compared
with the printer manufacturer's supplied profiles. I purchased a
Nelson 75W Natural white fluorescent light (the bayonet cap type) to
go in my desk lamp. It has a colour temperature of 5000deg K, and is
an excellent source for viewing prints at any time of day or night.
The phosphors give almost correct colour to the colour targets you
supplied, whehter viewed in sunlight or under the fluorescent. I've
acquired a good understanding of setting up the Mac and Photoshop to
use the custom profiles after a lot of research, so many thanks again

Hi Guys,This is feedback we wanted to give you on our recent purchase of a Panasonic PT LM 1 projector and a screen via your website.

Your advice and information on your website was first rate, and the projector is everything you said it would be. It was a challenging experience trying to decide on a projector, and very hard to actually see live demos of projectors. This meant we relied on reviews and your advice.

Subject: continuous ink system
Re purchase of continuous inking system for Epson R310 printer. This was installed on my printer recently by people at the Scanner and
Printer Place (AusMedia) as a replacement for a previously installed refillable ink cartridge system from Inkwell. I found it very difficult
to get correct colours using this system, besides being very time
consuming and messy .
I have had no trouble at all with the continuous ink system - I got
correct colours at the very start, and there is great peace of mind
knowing that none of my printer or colour management settings are going
to change, and need re-calibrating frequently. Even using genuine Epson
cartridges I have heard is no guarantee of colour stability, as they
are starting to outsource the manufacture of ink, and there complaints
about this.
I would have no reservations about recommending your system to people
who are concerned about getting good, repeatable colours from their
printer at a very reasonable price.
Sincerely,
Dr. R.Frater

Hi Steven, just wanted to let you know how I went with the hardware purchased last week. The Klegg amp is fantastic and the Swan speakers really blast photographs off the wall - a well matched setup. Thanks for selling me on the multi remote control, this rounds out the package nicely and is a must have I reckon!Only pain was I could not setup the front speakers initially as the speaker wire is so heavy duty that it does not fit in the Klegg connectors. Not much fun to be had when all the shops are shut over a long weekend ;-)regards and thanks

Just a quick note to thank you for your advise and assistance in the purchase of my projector and screen purchase. The projector powered up perfectly was simple to adjust and a great picture. we christened the room with a birthday party for my 12 year old son watching a DVD with 10 mates at the end of a grueling set of games.

I've attached a couple of pictures of the setup for you. Can't wait till footy season starts!!!

Hi Joel,

Recently I placed an order for a Panasonic AE700E after much research of my own and following advise provided by yourself. Your advise assisted in my final decsion. I have to admit I am very impressed not only with the product but also the service provided by you and your staff.
Being a conservative internet user I was sceptical in placing the order and paying for it not knowing too much about AIM Digital at the time. Let me tell you although those fears are blown away with the delivery being exceptional. The order was placed Friday afternoon and the project was received Monday afternoon before 3:00pm.

In future I will be a returning customer for my hometheatre needs.

Hi Joel.

How are you doing mate ?

My BenQ Projector is working like an absolute treat.
At the minute I have been running High Def TV, my Xbox, DVD player and Occasionaly my PC through it, and its working perfectly.

Just 2 things I'd like to ask....

No 1: At the minute we are projecting onto a piece of White Laminate Timber measuring roughly 3m X 1.8m in Height, so as you can imagine we are projecting a pretty big image. The only thing is, when the projector is not running, as you can imagine the Huge White timber panel is one hell of an eye sore. I remember you mentioning you deal in screens for projectors too, can you give me some prices on a pull down Projector Screen. (non motorised) that measure roughly this size.....3m x 1.8m high, to fill my wall.

No 2: The Clarity of High Def Tv, especially in 1080i is absolutley stunning on the projector. I am running the RGB cable from the set top box to the projector. Can I expect the same CLARITY when I run my DVD player into the Projector via a RGB Cable ? (At present I am running my 'old' (ie: non RGB) DVD player through a normal RCA Cable and the quality is no where near as good as the High Def TV.) If I use a DVD player with an RGB out and plug it directly into the Projector can I expect the same superb Clarity of High Def TV on the Projector, or will it be slightly lesser quality ?

Thanks Joel
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello all, I just wanted to say a big thankyou to all the people I dealt with at AIM. I recently bought the Panasonic AE700 projector and "Wow!" pretty much sums it up - both the projector and the service. Straight out of the box the projector was a stunner compared to many others I have seen, for considerably more money. Great colours, not a trace of the 'screen door' effect and also worked very well with heaps of ambient light. The info on your frequently updated website was extremely useful in helping me make the decision, as was the info provided in person over the phone. I have to say I was surprised when I was promised that a shipment was arriving the next Wednesday, and it in fact did! And, as you claim on your website, I wasn't charged until you had the goods. Thank you for your honest, no nonsense service, fast delivery and awesome price. Keep up the good work.

Peter, thanks.

I had a play around with the settings last night in this ‘secret’ menu. I certainly found that my flicker adjustment was out, and out by quiet a bit. I had tremendous flicker when I first went through the 6 (3 top and 3 bottom) scenarios. Interesting though, even with the “out of the box settings”, I found my picture quality to be brilliant… I wouldn’t have believed it could have been improved.

I fixed the flicker and certainly found that the vertical banding (VB) had improved (by about 50%). I then experimented with different flicker adjustments (all arguably showing no flicker) and found that you could reduce the VB even further (by 65%) and that you shouldn’t worry about having the colour values at different values.

I couldn’t get rid of the VB 100% but I also found by experimenting with colour temperatures and individual RGB colour settings, sharpness etc. that you can improve the VB even further without compromising natural colour.

I will continue to experiment further over time as I’m confident now that I know and am familiar with all the settings/controls/tweaks, that I can get rid of the VB by over 95%. As soon as I have done this, I’ll let you know my final settings.

Thanks again for your help in pointing me to this secret menu.
Regards Andre

Got the Projector last night.
Even though we are not in the new house yet I fired the unit up proped on a phone book with just an S-Video signal and shining on a cream wall.
All I can say is WOW can't wait until it's set up properly if it looks this great straight out of the box.
The family were blown away with the clarity of the picture.
What was going to be a 15 minute quick look turned into a 2 hour session trying different DVD's out. We didn't want to turn it off!! After 10 minutes I realised I had all the room lights on and it still looked great.
Reverting back to my "old" 130cm rear projector TV afterwards felt like we were watching a little portable TV by comparison
Thanks for the recommendation it was definitely worth waiting for.

Subject: Scanner on its way back from Adelaide

Hi there,I rang up this morning, having ordered a Minolta Scan Dual IV from you
guys last week and had some trouble with it -- specifically, I get a
bunch of horizontal lines across slide scans with the unit, which
appear to be the result of dust on the sensor (or maybe a damaged
sensor). I spoke to David this morning, who said that I should call
Konica Minolta and get their advice on what to do before I ship it
back.I rang ... confirmed that the problem's most likely the sensor, there's not
much I could do about it here in Adelaide, and that I should send it
back to where I bought it.
The guy I spoke to was called Pierre, if you need to talk to him.I then spoke to David again and he told me to ship it back to Box Hill
and you'd take a look and swap it for another one. I've now done this
-- I dropped it into Australian Air Express this evening, so it should
arrive Wednesday morning. I thought I'd better send an email to
identify myself a bit further and give the names and details. :) If you need to confirm anything with me, you can reach me at this email
address or by phone on xxxx. I'd also like to say that I'm hugely impressed with the speed and quality with which you do your
thing -- I was shocked to find the scanner arrive as early as Monday,
and David was very helpful on the phone today. I'll try and point a few more sales in your direction if I get the chance. :)

Many thanks,
Justin

Greetings,

I had a look at the web site yesterday in search of projector and colour printer information - I'm a long time customer of yours. I hope you will find it useful to have some comment about the grammar in the descriptions you give. The information is detailed and very useful, however the grammar and spelling needs some attention. The most common errors are:
'your' when you really mean 'you're' or 'you are'.
'their' when you mean 'they're'.
There were other errors but these are the most obvious and repeated ones. I suggest that it does not look good to appear illiterate, and it is a wide spread problem. There is even an article about bad spelling in marketing in the current Business Review Weekly so you don't have it on your own.

Well, I hope I haven't made any errors myself after all this... Cheers, Ros.

For what it's worth, here is some honest feedback on my first transaction with Ausmedia. I recently purchased an Epson EMP-S1H+ projector, a DGTEC 5000i set top box and an Image 100" High Gain screen. I dealt primarily with Joel. I had been borrowing our work projector and taking it home to watch major sporting events, etc. The work projector was a few years old but cost many times more than the Epson. I got hooked on the big screen and wanted my own but wanted to get the best possible set-up for my modest budget. There are dozens of sites on the web dealing with projectors and I checked them all out, some had great features like being able to compare the specs on multiple projectors side by side and projector central have a great screen size calculator. However, the best site anywhere for my money is the AIM Digital Imaging site. It provides all of the specs, plus the useful, little bits of information you need to know and is constantly being updated. "Service, Absolutely second to none. It is a pleasure to be able to talk to people who use the products and know what they are talking about. If you're worried about dealing with a company on the internet, rest assured, that this is clearly a quality, bricks and mortar organisation that use the web as simply an additional channel to market . All questions were answered professionally and any problems were immediately resolved.""I was initially drawn to Ausmedia on price but the service will have me going back.."Brian

Dear Steven,Re: Customer Feedback.I would like to thank Joel for his product knowledge and consideration in helping me sort out my selection of an appropriate Scanner. We have always dealt with AIM and purchased UMAX scanners which have served our purpose well. Recently our old scanner broke down and we were offered the 4600 by Joel. While an excellent scanner it did not quite meet our needs, in that we could not do pre-scan adjustments as before. The 6700 scanner recommended with the Silver-fast software admirably meets our needs, especially my wife's who does intricate photo work for her family tree projects. In this work she needs to adjust marquee size, output size, resolution, light & colour. We found the 6700 performs these functions in a very effective and professional manner.I would also like to thank Michael for helping to sort out my system difficulties, and Russell, for picking up on our order when Joel was off duty. Hello Russell,

The printer profile you prepared for me works well! A success at last! I had been wallowing for months before this breakthrough. I wish to thankyou for firstly for dealing with my under-developed knowledge on the subject and for also responding to my many correspondences. Your product is well worth the nominal cost to have made up and has really given me the impetus to continue in my digital photographic exploits. Excellent service, excellent product and excellent results! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will be recommended widely & thoroughly.

Many Thanks,

Christian,Thanks for your recent advice/sale of the Xerox Docuprint 1618! This has produced some beautiful sharp documents, and cost-per-page is a definite factor for me. Duplex printing --a real plus. Carbon on fonts is not showing any drop-outs so far, nor in graphics or half-tones. Thanks too for upgrading RAM and adding spare black toner. Thanks also for various discounts off paper and ink from time to time, which is much appreciated. Thanks again,Wayne Roberts

In my experience, most retail outlets are ill-informed about their products.
The most knowledgeable and helpful source I've found is the Scanner and Printer Place that has a website at www.scannerplace.com.au It tends to offer good deals on various software /hardware bundles. And if you've got a scanner, the best piece of management software is a program called PaperPort DeLuxe. It ships free with the PaperPort Strobe Pro, but it's a worthwhile investment no matter what brand of scanner you choose.

Subject: Re: coloured papers and umax camera

Hello Russell, The UMAX (UMAX 3660 Digital Camera) is great. The behaviour is totally normal with the 2000 mAh batteries, in other words each set is good enough to take around 80 pics at 3 Mpx each. They do get a bit hot half ways, and to replace the set for a spare one until the first set cools down is a good idea. Considering that each set is only 2 AA batteries, that compares pretty well with the Canon A-40. As all digital cameras, the 3660 has its weaknesses, and that is taking photos indoors with not enough light. You need a tripod in this case and the subject cannot move too much. By the way, the night settings give pretty good results for static objects. On the other hand, the camera is really very good in outdoors when plenty of light is available, both for landscapes and for close-ups. I printed some photos of flower close-ups coming from the 3660 in the 8200 printer, and they are just excellent. To attain the same results with the A-40 had been very difficult or almost impossible in similar conditions. The 3660 also doesn't seem to over saturate the red and the yellow as the A-40 does, and can give plenty of detail when photographing strong colours. The skies are almost as if you were using a polarizer, and just point and shoot. It does have a slight tendency to give a redish effect in some takes, which is usually not a problem to readily correct using, say, Photoshop. The A-40, though, is quite better in indoors for moving objects in low light. In summary, the UMAX is definitely no toy and can be perfectly used as a working tool, and with very good pleasant results. I'll be more than happy to write a testimonial for the 3660. By the way, everybody prefers it around here because is so easy to use. (Next time I'm around I'll take some prints of photos taken with the 3660). Now, in regards to the printer: it's simply a beauty, and delivers above any expectation. I'll be also glad to send you a testimonial on this one. We have only printed around 200+ pages, brochures mainly, all a feast to the eyes. We're extremely happy to have chosen the (Xerox) 8200. Any other printer had just not fulfilled the requirements for the image of ourselves we wanted to give our clients. Among a plethora of information the printer gives you, you can also see exactly how much each job is costing you, which is very important if you want to stay within budget. The printer also provides sets of RGB and CYMK samples that are necessary and very useful for colour matching. Some colour choices seem to give better results that others in regards to sharpness of the graphics, which is probably related to how the colours are produced by the printer. The printer is usually better with high intensity colours than with light shades (but this can be expensive). The only little thing we have found thus far is some marks left by the printer apparently from the process of feeding the page back for the duplex printing. I'll have to read the manual to see if there's some kind of cure for this. Please let me know if you already know how to go about it. Coloured paper: We tried with some coloured paper we had, and somehow they took away some of the glamor of the prints. In the past, we had used this solution to print on ink jets, however the graphics of this printer are so good that you want that contrast of the pure white to show off the colour. However, it may be that for certain jobs the coloured papers cokuld be appropriate, and we'll try again. I was wondering about the price of the internal HD and the upgrade to 256 Mb or RAM. Can a normal HD be installed? Does it have to be only a 10 Gb one? And what about the memory, is it normal, or you can only use the one supplied by Xerox?Regards,

Peter.

Hi Russell,
Well, I've printed enough images now to come to the following conclusion: YOUR PROFILES ARE FANTASTIC! Indeed, overall I would rate them even more highly than the Conetech profiles - their profiles still have greater contrast, but this means they can often clip the highlights, whereas your profiles are completely smooth all the way up to pure white. The Conetechs also have more spectacular blacks, but I suspect your profiles may actually be more accurate in this regard. And as for colour fidelity, IMHO your profiles are nothing short of the best I've seen - they always look natural and neutral. Even greyscales print accurately! You can be sure I will get at least one more paper profiled by you (for general purpose printing) and I will be buying most of my paper from you as well. If you like, I can also add my testimony to your web site - the Conetech profiles are probably the best known and most respected on the net, so I'm sure people would like to know that your's are even better (not to mention cheaper!). Lee

I'm very impressed with the Minolta Dual Scan 3 I bought from you.
The attached photo was taken in Dec 1963 using Kodak 25 ASA transparency film without flash. It is of the lounge car in the Trans Australian Express.
My previous 35mm scanner was the Prime 1800 and I had absolutely no success with it in bringing this and other dark slides to anything like usability. I used Adobe Photoshop 6 and Corel Draw Photo Paint
and nothing would work.
With the Minolta it was a breeze. I had problems with fungi on them, but most of that was removed by the Minolta scanner leaving me with an easy clean up job compared to what I had with the Prime. Feel free to use this photo if you want.

Many thanks.

17-4-2003Dear Sir,
I feel I must take this opportunity to say a very heartfelt thanks for the prompt and capable service I have received from your company. I have had a technical profession all my life (not photography) and had my own colour darkroom equipped with a colour analyzer and a densitometer, not to mention other bits and pieces necessary to produce consistent colour prints, which I sold. I doubt whether I would have recouped the costs of all my equipment, but it did defray the costs of my passion for things technical plus calibration procedures. I developed a very successful method of colour analysis of negatives, actually through reading some of the philosophies of Ansel Adams and his work with black and white.
Over the last 10 or so years, I have interested myself in computers, and have become comfortably competent with same. I was introduced to Photoshop some years ago as my brother has been a commercial photographer for many years. It always amuses me as he is very artistic and not really interested in the technical side of things. I have a strong leaning towards the technical, and don't really have an artistic bone in my body, so our conversations over the years have been very interesting, and we have both learned along the way.
Now, having just bought an Epson 830 from your Box Hill store, and having read the setup section of the Photoshop book by Gary Bouton, you will now have some idea of my shock when my intial prints were coming out of my 'new toy' with the standard you would expect from a complete novice. It hit me, when thinking of my background, that I could have "Crossed Curves". This means to me that I would be able to adjust my shadow colour to a correct value, but this would shift the highlights to an incorrect value. Alternatively, I could select the correct highlight colour, and thereby shift the shadow to incorrect value. What to do?This is where Peter Buchstaller from Box Hill came in. He supplied me with a double page file of numerous colour patches to be printed on my own printer using my usual settings, and the paper I normally would. When this was read on a fancy densitometer, it produced a profile for my printer so that the yellow, magenta and cyan curves follow the paper gamma curve from toe to shoulder. Now it doesn't matter what tone I need to produce, it comes out on the paper the same as the screen of my computer. My prints have now taken a massive improvement and my imminent divorce is now all off.
I thank you most sincerely and hope others have the same results and enjoyment.

My best regards,

Phil McCONNELL

Subject: I have won an Epson Printer!

Hi Joel,

I am delighted to report that I have won an Epson 915 Photoprinter to accompany my Epson 1660 Scanner I bought at AIM a couple of months ago.

Prior to deciding on an Epson 1660 Scanner, I had done quite a deal of research on photo-suitable scanners and had noticed on the Epson website that the 1660 model had an accompanying promotion competition to win a new printer.

As I am in the habit of winning nothing at all, I submitted my '25 words or less' and then put the competition right out of my mind.

You can imagine my amazement to receive a call from Epson yesterday informing me that I had won a new Printer and my further amazement when it has been delivered today!

This happy experience, just before Christmas to boot!, highlights two aspects - firstly, the advantages of buying computer consumables from a specialist retailer, such as AIM, rather from a department store. I had initially narrowed down my choice to an Epson 1260 Scanner, but after discussion with you and your demonstration of the 1660 model, I decided that the 1660 better suited my needs, irrespective of the promotion/competition for a printer.

Secondly, this experience should encourage other consumers to 'have a go' at promotions/competitions, particularly from a specified, reputable manufacturer, such as Epson.

Wishing all at AIM the compliments of the season,

Mary E. Lynch

I thought I should tell you about the great service I received from your Company.   I was looking for a digital camera and found you on the net.   At that stage, price was the major factor influencing my choice and I ordered a Canon Powershot A40 from the ACT store on Wednesday April 17.   Unfortunately I choose TNT as the courier and the next week was a story of great assistance from your staff and very little from TNT.   I dealt with 2 or 3 of your staff (they were all very professional) but, in the last few days, it was Robert who looked after me.

By Friday, April 26, the camera had still not arrived and TNT were talking about sending a claim form if it didn't turn up by the following Monday (today).   I rang Robert (who had a couple of conversations with TNT) and he took the matter over.   He despatched a camera on Friday and I received it at 10:00am this morning.

I've had a bit to do with the whole eBusiness thing and know that you rely on good people and an excellent delivery chain.  Your people are easily the best I have dealt with but the delivery by a third party let you down initially.   Sometimes, in the world of customer service, top quality recovery can make loyal customers from those who've have a bad experience.   I'm certainly one of those.   I'm in the market for a scanner and maybe another camera and you can be sure that I'll buy from you and spread the word among friends and associates. Thank you and please thank the ACT staff and Robert in particular. Best wishes

19-3-2002 - Via Fast reply! I am rarely motivated to go to the trouble of sending POSITIVE comments about a product, as I suspect are most of us, we would normally be quicker to send negative feedback.A few weeks ago I was looking for a Document scanner for the purpose of yet another attempt at a paperless office.I contacted Scanner place who were extremely helpful, although you were out of stock for a few days on the product I was after. I though your web site and reviews were of great help so I am sending this feedback for your site.I had in the past used Visioneer paperport Vx scanners and was looking at the Paperport Strobe, at around the high $400 mark this was about what I was prepared to pay until I noticed the Fujitsu 4110CU, but was a bit eary of it's price tag. After considerable thought and that the Fujitsu 4110CU had a 50 page document feeder, Full colour duplex and a good 13-15 pages per min scan rate I decided to go all the way and spend the extra money. After using the Fujitsu 4110CU for a few weeks THIS WAS THE BEST MONEY I COULD HAVE EVER SPENT. It is quick, good quality scans, and in conjunction with paperport software makes good small size document archives. It is great at scanning all my 2 sided bills and banking statements etc.If you are thinking of going half way and trying to make your small office paperless with a flatbed scanner or non duplex scanner go the extra mile and get something like the Fujitsu 4110CU it is worth the extra money and makes a paperless office more of a reality.Hope someone finds this feedback usefulCheers

www.condomwarehouse.com.auDear good people,"I purchased from you an Epson Photo 890 printer and an Epson 1640SU scanner.I am very pleased with both of them.I was concerned about the resolution of the scanner for 35mm slides and negatives as dedicated scanners seem to have a resolution of 4000dpi. Ifind however that this scanner has more than adequate resolution and in fact I get the best results on a 35mm slide at 1600dpi. I obtained with itPhotoImpact 5. The book that went with it looked promising at first but I found it not very helpful as it seemed to assume knowledge of the basics. The very exiting thing was the Training CD which you had produced in house. This is what made the job possible. Without it I doubt if I could have used the equipment at all."Thank you,

Subject: Received CanoScan 2710JoelI got the scanner today. It is great.Just for interest for your other Mac G4 buyers…The scsi card that comes with the scanner is identified by Adaptec’s PowerDomain software as a 2906 scsi 2 compliant card. This is the same as the one I already have, so there are no software conflicts with the two scsi cards installed. From what I can gather the Canon chip on the card means that it is not a configurable card, but who wants to anyway. I can probably stick the scanner on the other scsi chain any way, but I thought I would try it this way at first. The devices on the other card have all got 25 pin connectors, so I think the 50 pin connector on the Canoscan probably means it will scan at scsi 2 speeds. I am not sure what happens if you mix different specification devices on a single scsi chain, but the La Cie CD-RW probably won’t work at that speed, and my old Umax S6E almost certainly won’t.The scanner software is so simple to use I can hardly believe it. I just scan straight into PhotoShop using the Canon plug in.The scans I have done already compare favourably to those I have done on a friend’s Polaroid Sprintscan, which I think exceeds 3000dpi. Except that his is connected to a dual processor PC and Polaroid have not supported the drivers for the various flavours of Windows at all well. (By the way. What has happened to the Polaroid scanner division?)So I am delighted with my purchase. Thanks. And happy Xmas.

25-7-2001Hello there, I operate an engineering consultancy business in Melbourne.  Earlier this year I purchased a Fujitsu M3091DC scanner from you.  It's turned out to be one of the most productive office tools I have ever purchased.  It sits on my disk, taking up very little space, where almost every hard copy document that comes through me and that needs filing is quickly scanned, exported as a PDF file using Paperport and saved in my electronic filing system.  It gets lost of daily use - on average a few hundred pages a day.  It's speed and quality are remarkable.  Most documents scan fine at 200 X 200 resolution except for fine line drawings which need a higher resolution available on the machine.  The autoloading facility works just fine.  It even handles fax paper well provided you iron the paper out flat first.  It allows me to run closer to a paperless office than ever before.  I can recommend it as a valuable tool.
